Purpose of the Position 

GHS Solutions is seeking an experienced Machinist with fitting capabilities to join our growing engineering and machining team in Geraldton.

 

This role will involve a combination of manual machining, component manufacture, and mechanical fitting work across a variety of projects supporting the mining, resources, and industrial sectors.

 

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and can work both independently and within a team

Mandatory Requirements

  • Trade Qualification (Cert III Mechanical Fitting or Cert III Fitting and Machining)
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Police Clearance (obtained within the past 12 months)
  • HRWL Forklift licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Current Drivers licence 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operating manual lathes and milling machines

  • Machining components to engineering drawings and tolerances

  • Assisting with mechanical fitting, assembly and repairs

  • Inspection and measurement of machined parts

  • Maintaining workshop equipment and tools

  • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards

Skills and Experience 

  • Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with mechanical fitting and equipment repairs
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Mining or heavy industry experience highly regarded
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
