GHS Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and manage our fabrication and site operations, based permanently in Geraldton, Western Australia. The role is responsible for overseeing SMP fabrication, workshop & site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across multiple clients and projects. The role suits a commercially minded engineering leader who can balance clients, safety, people, production and quality with a continuous improvement mindset.

Purpose of the Role The Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of engineering and workshop operations. You will manage teams, systems, and processes to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to specification. This role operates at a management and strategic level, working closely with senior leadership, clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage engineering, fabrication, and workshop operations Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, engineers, and trades teams Ensure compliance with Standards, QA requirements and WHS laws and legislation Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation Manage budgets, cost control, and productivity performance Drive quality assurance, inspection, and continuous improvement processes Support estimating, tender reviews, providing technical input where required Develop and mentor leaders and technical personnel Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
About You You are an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in heavy industry or fabrication environments. You will ideally have: Trade qualifications, with proven experience in a similar role Background in structural, mechanical and piping in the mining industry Strong leadership, planning, and people management capability Commercial awareness, including cost control and productivity management Sound understanding of QA/QC systems and Australian Standards Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of rail industry desirable
Qualifications & Requirements Trade Qualifications, preferably Metal Fabricator or Fitter/Machinist Current Australian Driver’s Licence
