Purpose of the Position 

GHS Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand First Class Machinists and Machinists for works in and around the coastal Geraldton area and works located at our Geraldton workshop. 

FIFO position from Perth, working 12 hour days. Long term, ongoing work provided. 

 

Licence Requirements

  • Trade Certificate (Cert III Mechanical Fitting or Cert III Fitting and Machining)
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Police Clearance (obtained within the past 12 months)
  • HRWL Forklift licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Drivers licence 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work unsupervised, with motivated and hardworking attitude 
  • Work in a team environment in the workshop and remote areas
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Strong commitment towards safety and quality 
  • Ensure achievement of maintenance goals to maxmise plant and equipment availability 
  • Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment and operate machines to produce parts or tools (within budgeted hours)
  • Mark the shape and dimensions of a part to be machined using drawings and measuring instruments
  • Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads
  • Knowledge and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment 
  • Operate powered machines either manually or computer controlled
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol test
