Purpose of the Position 

Geraldton Hire has an exciting opportunity for Yardperson / Controlled Waste operator at our Geraldton Hire premise.  

This is a varied, hands-on role involving controlled-waste services, equipment deliveries and collections, and general yard duties. We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working independently while providing excellent service to our customers.

Key Resonsibilities

• Operate controlled-waste/vacuum truck and associated equipment safely and efficiently
• Undertake controlled-waste collection, transport and disposal activities in accordance with applicable requirements
• Service and maintain portable toilets and other sanitation equipment as required
• Complete required controlled-waste documentation and records
• Deliver and collect hire equipment throughout Geraldton and regional areas
• Safely load, unload and restrain equipment for transport
• Conduct vehicle and equipment pre-start inspections
• Assist with general yard duties, cleaning and housekeeping
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition
• Provide professional and friendly customer service
• Follow Geraldton Hire's safe work procedures, Take 5 requirements and other HSEQ requirements

Geographical Coverage

Regional Western Australia, permanently based in Geraldton. 

Licence Requirements

• MR Truck Drivers Licence
• High Risk Licence - Forklift  essential
• Construction Industry White Card
• Current Police Clearance (obtained within the past 12 months)
• Controlled Waste Drivers Licence or ability to obtain the required licence
• Previous truck driving, yard, hire industry or controlled waste experience will be highly regarded
